Meet the Artist

Ama Ramos is a first-generation Ghanaian-American artist renowned for her mastery in crafting hyper-realistic floral sculptures. Based in Irvine, CA, she draws inspiration from the vibrant colors and rich textures of her cultural heritage, as well as the natural beauty that surrounds her. Ama infuses  joy and wonder into every piece she creates.

A self-taught artist, Ama began experimenting with paper flowers in 2015 as a hobby. By 2019, she had transformed her passion into a full-time career, dedicating herself to perfecting botanical realism. Her meticulous process involves deconstructing real flowers to study their intricate layers, which she recreates using sustainable materials such as cardstock, crepe, and fabric. She also incorporates paints, inks, and other mediums to enhance her work’s lifelike quality, leaving audiences captivated by her ability to merge artistry and sustainability.

Ama’s exceptional work has earned her recognition as a finalist for Joann’s Fabric Minority Creative Grant and a feature in Architectural Digest. Her floral arrangements have been showcased internationally, adding a touch of elegance to corporate events, and private celebrations. Ama’s artistry not only celebrates the beauty of nature but also serves as a testament to the power of perseverance and creative vision.
